Director Fernando Frias hired me to help create interstitial video art and “Pepper’s Ghost” reflection effects for Depeche Mode’s concert film, “Depeche Mode: M”. The film documents the Mexico City dates for the Memento Mori tour of 2023-24. The concert fell on the weekend of Dias de los Muertos and the film evokes many themes around death and dying.
I directed this video for Danger Mouse & Black Thought’s single “Up” (feat. Rag’n’Bone Man). The concept was to use archival footage on arrays of black and white production monitors to create a visual collage that ties in with themes of the song.
Recently, I've been learning how to record my synthesizer sessions with Abelton Live. Below is an mp3 of a new track that I started in May called "Television Waves". You can see the original post on Instagram here: https://www.instagram.com/p/DJJ70ODpLwA/
If you're interested in adding a vocal or remixing the track entirely, the Abelton Live file and associated samples are available to my Patreon supporters at https://www.patreon.com/c/ellingson.
Sony Pictures hired me to create an audio-visual project using clips from their 1980’s horror/comedy “Fright Night”. I used my Digitakt 2 drum computer, VCV Rack synthesizer emulator, and VDMX live-video software to create the work and I filmed it on a vintage Sony Trinitron color television.
My video installation, "3 Sears Televisions" is on view at Brassworks Gallery in Portland as part of the “Is It Still Life?” group exhibition. You can find it for sale here on their website:

All you need is a dark corner, a power outlet, and thousands of dollars.
The Korg Wavestate Module has a vast library of samples that can be addressed individually by MIDI across four different layers. Each layer can contain a single multisample or a sequence of samples and has its own controls for amplitude and filtering. It can add up to a lot of sound.
