I'm happy to introduce my first collaboration with San Francisco's favorite vintage pin shop, "Oriental Art Gallery". Proprietor Su Lee was very excited to learn that I design pins and suggested a special Quan Yin pin for the shop. I was unfamiliar with the Chinese goddess of mercy and compassion, but Mrs. Lee got me up to speed with the details. I generated some sketches and we compared notes. The final result is a metallic gold and black hard-enamel pin (with two metal clutches so she doesn't spin upside down).
Patreon patrons were the first to get the Quan Yin pin. I mailed them out right away. If you'd like to get pins from me on a regular basis with priority availability, consider joining my Patreon campaign at the $10/month level. I send supporters things regularly and I really appreciate people that make this art-object habit possible.
Quan Yin pins are now also available on my Etsy shop. While you're there, check out my other pins, including a pin-portrait of Su Lee The Pin-Shop Lady. You can read all about that pin here.
Of course, Oriental Art Gallery has Quan Yin pins available, but you'll have to go there in person (open daily from 1pm-6pm). If you go, be sure to leave with at least one vintage pin from Su Lee's assortment of enamel pins from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. Su loves pins and she'll love to talk with you about them.
